Charles Shuler Pool Company was founded in the early 1970s as a result of Charles Shuler’s belief that the demand for backyard family pools that had blossomed in the northern states was about to take hold in the south. With a degree in business from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a work ethic learned to work in family businesses with his dad Bud Shuler & brothers, Charles combined hard work, fair pricing, and quality workmanship to build the business. As more and more pools were installed, the need for a professional retail pool store became evident.

In 1984, Charles Shuler Pool Company opened its full-time pool store featuring pool chemicals, supplies, and free water testing for our customers. With a professional and knowledgeable staff, the store has become a fixture for pool owners in a thirty-mile radius.

More importantly, the company is staffed almost entirely by family members. From Charles’, son Greg, and brother-in-law Gary Baniger on the construction site, to store manager Sarah Matthews (daughter), and assistant store manager Jamie Shuler (daughter-in-law), the business has a wealth of experience in all areas. Through the years, nieces, nephews, stepsons, and other relatives have helped out. Many have gone on to earn their college degrees with the help of this work experience.
